Hello Everyone!

As the school year is beginning to wind down it seems like things are becoming just as busy as ever!

The first thing up on the calendar is our EW James BBQ Supper & Outdoor Concert on Tuesday, April 20 from 4-6 pm. Hopefully you have heard by now that this is going to be held at the Troy First Baptist Church parking lot, which over looks the new EW James store. Thanks to your efforts and the efforts of our kids we have sold more than double the amount of tickets that we have sold in the past few years! Well done! Of course we have been saying for the longest time if we could have the dinner in Troy we could sell more tickets, and now I guess we have proven it! Of course selling more tickets means we are going to need more help. If you can help at all on this day, even if its 30 minutes, please let me know, my email is jillk2136 @ aol.com, or call or text me 446-5350. The main times will be in the morning from approx 10am-noon (we don’t have the exact time yet) and then again in the afternoon from 3-6pm or so. Also, we have many students who have not turned in their tickets or money. The tickets are numbered and each student was assigned numbered tickets. All of these tickets must be accounted for or the money for them turned in. This is very important! If you have questions about this please see myself, Linda Albright or Mr. Kerr.

Next up is our annual Band Banquet & Awards. This is on Thursday, May 6 in the commons area at school. Your student should have brought home a letter about this and purchasing tickets, which are $10 each, due April 20. If you did not receive the letter please let me know and I will get one to you. The banquet will take the place of our May meeting. Friday, May 21, is graduation and the band does perform at graduation. All students who are not participating in the ceremony will need to be there. Mr. Kerr will go into more detail about this as it gets closer. There will also be a concert in May and Mr. Kerr will be announcing the date of that soon as well. In case you missed this months meeting, the officers you elected for the coming year, who will take office May 6, are president-Jill Kelly, vice-president-Linda Albright, secretary-Hollye Edmaiston, treasurer-LeEllen Smith and parliamentarian-Brent Fielder. We still need loads of help though in areas like band camp, membership, PR, fundraising, events, traveling, props & flags, concessions, & chaperones. If you think you might be interested please let one of us know! I also want to give a special thanks to all of our senior parents who have helped so much with various things over the past 4 years. You have been a great group who has jumped in to help wherever needed and we will miss you! Remember just because your students are graduating doesn’t mean you can’t come back and help next year! Best of luck to all of our graduating seniors!
